Sogndal climbing club is a very active club with about 120 members. The club has access to the amazing indoor climbing wall in Sognahallen through membership in the sportscentre, «Idrettssenteret». In addition, we have the no less amazing crag «Kvam» 5 minutes drive from Sogndal, with routes from grade 4 to 8c, bolt protected and some on natural gear. We also have a little bouldering scattered around Sogndal. Here are some pictures from «Kvam».
To gain access to the indoor wall you must either be a member of «Idrettssenteret» or pay dropin price of Nkr 100. The club unfortunately has no discounts here, but without the training center we would´t have this wall! Mondays and Wednesdays at 5pm - 7pm is a good time to meet other climbers in the wall! The indoor wall is 19 meters high, from vertical to 45 ° and everything in between. The wall has 30 lines of bolts and routes between grade 4 and 8a. There is also a bouldering wall with most angles and a campus board as well!
To climb indoors (in all of Norway) you must have a «Brattkort» which is a proof that you can belay and use climbing equipment. The card can be issued from the training center if you have the necessary knowledge. If not, you can take a course with one of IVBV / UIAGM Mountain Guides in the village.
